About Us

Wett Ones Swimming Club Inc. is the largest Masters Swimming Australia-affiliated swimming club in Australia, providing a safe, friendly and supportive swimming club for the gay and lesbian community, and our friends, in Sydney.  We provide professional coaching, access to competitive events and social activities for our members and friends.

With a membership of more than 180 people, we are the largest Masters Swimming club in Australia and the largest gay and lesbian swimming club in outside North America and Europe.  

Founded in 1991, today we provide up to nine coached swimming classes per week for male and female swimmers ranging in age from their early 20s to their 70s.  We swim at Sydney University, Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton, Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre, and Victoria Park pools in inner Sydney.

Wett Ones is a proud member of Team Sydney, IGLA (International LGBTQ+ Aquatics), the Gay Games Federation (GGF) and Masters Swimming Australia. 

Promoting a healthy lifestyle, pride in sport, an inclusive, fair and competitive spirit with social activities is core purpose for Wett Ones.  We train hard, compete harder and play hardest!

Our mission is to provide a safe, friendly and supportive swimming environment for the gay and lesbian community, our allies, friends and supporters in Sydney.

To do this, we endeavour to keep costs for members as low as possible.  With the support of our sponsors, we can keep membership and individual session prices low and provide additional services, such as:

• qualified and professional coaching support,

• professional development for our coaches, 

• master classes to focus on and improve technique, 

• swimming camps, 

• reduced entry to competition events, and 

• social events to foster deeper club spirit.
