Wett Ones is a team like no other! We started as a lesbian and gay masters swimming club, and are now an LGBT+ club and are proud to welcome swimmers of all sexualities and genders. We believe that the pool can provide fitness, fun, and friendship for all and encourage anyone with an interest in swimming to join our regular sessions.
We train up to five times a week in central Sydney and recruit new members at any point in the calendar. Our excellent coaches will help you get started and then how often you swim is up to you.
Our team also provides opportunities for competitive swimmers to join us in Masters, and gay and lesbian focused events on the state, national and international stages, and we run regular stroke correction and technique building classes - to help everyone to achieve their swimming goals.
At Sydney University Pool:
Monday 6:30 - 7:30pm
Wednesday 6:30 - 7:30pm
Friday 6:30 - 7:30pm
Sunday 3:30 - 5:00pm
At Cook & Philip Park Pool:
Saturday 10:15 - 11:15am
Check the 'Events' page for any special changes to training times.
Our club caters for swimmers of varying levels - if you can swim at least 10 laps without stopping you'll be just fine! In fact we have several lanes at each training session with each lane catering to a different level of ability.
We follow a seasonal programme, with each six months of the year (winter and summer seasons) building towards a target swim meet. As well as the seasonal target, our members regularly attend mid-season meets as part of the Masters Swimming NSW calendar. You don't ever have to compete, but if you want to, we'll be right there with you.
We're also a big supporter of both the OutGames and the Gay Games events and always train hard before them and send a big team to these fantastic LGBTIQ competitions.
