Wett Ones are bringing it back! A classic event on the LGBTIQ sports calendar makes its return to the beautiful Andrew Boy Charlton pool. With harbour views and ample space for spectators, come join us for a swim or to see the swimmers in action. Registration has now closed. There may be chances to turn up and swim on the night but that can't be guaranteed due to time constraints. Be sure to come to spectate though!
The Wett Ones Swim Meet 2018 will be held on the final weekend of the Mardi Gras 40th Anniversary celebration. This will be a fast and fun swim meet, open to all, and hosted by Sydney's LGBTIQ swimming club, Wett Ones.
The meet will be held at the iconic Andrew 'Boy' Charlton pool in The Domain, walking distance from the Sydney CBD.
Just like our club, this swim meet is open to all - regardless of gender, sexuality, age, or ability. You can take it seriously, you can swim for fun, or you can just come to watch the action.
Registration is now closed - but please come to spectate!
Andrew 'Boy' Charlton pool, or ABC to locals, is a beautiful 50m, 8 lane, heated, competition pool suspended over the waters of Woolloomooloo Bay in Sydney Harbour. The pool is named for the Austrlian Olympic Swimmer of the same name who trained at the location in the 1920s.
The pool hosted an annual Mardi Gras swim meet in the 90s and early 00s, then run by the Southern Cross Outdoors Group. Wett Ones are proud and privileged to bring back this much loved swim meet, and have it be part of the official Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 40th Anniversary Event Calendar.
