Meet our swimmers' representatives Tracey and Joe! These two beautiful people are here to welcome new members, help with any queries and concerns you have, and put your proposals and suggestions to the club's committee. Without further ado, here are their thoughts about the club and their roles within it:

How would you explain your role as a swimmer's representative?

I suppose my role as a swimmer's representative is to make new swimmers feel welcome and also to take on board any feedback or suggestions other swimmers may have and present it in our monthly meetings.

What made you come along to Wett Ones at first?

When I first moved to Sydney, I didn't know many people. However, it wasn't until after my knee injury approx. 5 years ago, the physiotherapist advised that I should consider swimming, so I took some swim lessons and have since loved swimming.

How do think your swimming ability has progressed since joining the club?

Before joining the Wett Ones, I would have never thought that I was able to swim in a squad or swim for an hour, I wasn't very confident. I have now been swimming with the Wett Ones for almost two and a half years, I am more confident and with the coach's help, my strokes have improved a lot.

How would you explain your role as a swimmer's representative?

My role is to be available for the female swimmers to discuss any issues or suggestions they may have and to provide a welcoming environment for new swimmers who come along to try out our squad sessions. Historically we had trouble retaining female swimmers in the club but I am very happy to say that most ladies who come along to Wett Ones these days are likely to keep coming back and we have a core group of female swimmers who come to most sessions

You join other members of the team at competitive swim meets, what's your favourite event and why?

My favourite events at the moment are the 50m breaststroke because it's my favourite sprint and I am determined to break 40 seconds, and the 100 back as I keep getting PBs!

Here's Tracey trying to break that elusive 40 second barrier!

What would you both say to people who are thinking about joining Wett Ones?

Definitely come and give it a try! Wett Ones is like a big family and everyone is really friendly. We train hard and play hard, the social events are fun and you get to meet friends for life.
